Ongii Lambrusco Reggiano DOP by Podere Giardino Winery is a delicious Lambrusco Reggiano DOP. This dry sparkling red is the emblem of the Reggio Emilia culinary tradition, which goes perfectly with the dishes of the area.

The blend of ONGII is a skillful combination of Lambrusco Marani, Salamino, Oliva, Maestri, and Grasparossa, which blend harmoniously in a glass with vinous and fragrant notes of ripe red fruit, such as cherry. With a bright purple-red color, ONGII offers a soft flavor to the palate, with silky tannins and great drinkability, while evolved notes of smoke and leather are perceived on the nose.

The vinification of ONGII provides for crushing and destemming and maceration of 5 days, followed by spontaneous fermentation on its lees and by a refinement in the bottle for 12-15 months. The result is an organic wine of great quality and character, which goes perfectly with the typical cuisine of Reggio. Ideal to accompany aperitifs of erbazzone, fried dumplings, and cured meats, first courses of stuffed pasta such as cappelletti and Tortelli, and elaborate second courses.

To fully enjoy the ONGII tasting experience, it is recommended to serve at a temperature between 10 and 12°C. Savor every sip of this incredibly versatile wine and let yourself be conquered by its fruity and enveloping notes.

DENOMINATION: Lambrusco Reggiano DOP.
GRAPE VARIETIES: 30% Lambrusco Marani, 20% L. Salamino, 20% L. Oliva, 20% L. Maestri, 10% L. Grasparossa.
VINIFICATION: destemming and maceration on the skins for 6/7 days; soft pressing; fermentation at controlled temperature; clarification with coarse filtration 1st and 2nd fermentation in stainless steel, bottle aging 12 months.
TERRITORY: Reggio Emilia high plain, Municipality of Reggio Emilia.
SOIL TYPE: loamy, clayey-sandy.
PRODUCTION METHOD: organic, reg. EC 848/18, reg. EC 203/12; Authorized certification body Mipaaf IT BIO 006, operator code H1912.
CULTIVATION AND AGE: 15-year-old Guyot/Spalliera system.
YIELD PER HA: 12 tons/Ha.
HARVEST: manual, end of September.
CHARACTERISTICS: Bright purple-red, vinous, retains primary fragrances of ripe red fruit, and cherry, but with evolved notes of smoky, leather. soft, silky tannins, and great drinkability.
RESIDUAL SUGAR: 6 (six) gr/l.
TOTAL ACIDITY: 6.70 g/l.
SULFUR DIOXIDE: without the addition of sulfites; natural content < 10 mg/liter.
PAIRINGS: classic with classic. the “standard” of Lambrusco paired with the typical cuisine of Reggio, erbazzone aperitifs, fried dumplings and cured meats, Parmigiano Reggiano, stuffed pasta first courses, cappelletti, tortelli, elaborate second courses.
SERVE AT: 10-12°C.
